Abby and Ian | Engagement photography in Laumeier Sculpture Park

When I originally met with Abby and Ian about capturing their wedding, they were happy to only have wedding day coverage. So when I got an email out of the blue last month from Abby about scheduling an engagement session, I was a bit surprised! As a rule, I never try to convince someone they need something they don’t want, so even though I always talk about why an engagement session is important, the final decision is up to my clients.

Once we were at Laumeiere Park, Abby filled me in on her change of heart. “We were in New York for a friend’s wedding and I was suddenly terrified I was going to ruin her wedding photos by being awkward!” She said she told Ian on the way home that they needed an engagement session so she wouldn’t feel uncomfortable on their wedding day. I was happy to oblige as this is the number one reason I recommend an engagement session to every couple!

Of course, I don’t know what Abby was worried about. She and Ian are adorable and have a fun playfulness that really comes through on camera.
